KEYS TO A HEALTHIER YOU SERIES

Many chronic diseases can be caused by key risk behaviors. You can reduce your likelihood of getting a chronic disease and improve your quality of life by making healthy choices. It's a known fact that eating healthy and being active can help prevent, delay, and manage heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and other chronic diseases.

The Fulton County Board of Health (FCBHO) Chronic Disease Prevention program is kicking-off an online learning series called Keys to a Healthier You! This series will cover three topics. Each 60-minute session is designed for adults and will provide information and strategies to prevent chronic disease. In addition, you will learn about free programs offered by our agency to help you on your journey to a healthier lifestyle.

Healthy Eating: MyPlate 101

Everything you eat and drink matters. The right mix can help you be healthier now and in the future. MyPlate is the current nutrition guide developed by the USDA that uses a meal place setting to illustrate the proper distribution of the five food groups in a healthy diet. This fun and interactive session will provide participants with an overview of the health benefits associated with MyPlate and how this tool can support chronic disease prevention.
